Info updated on:

QuickBoot is a program that comes in handy to Mac users who have multiple OS X versions installed on their computers. This application comes as an alternative to going to the System Preferences panel, selecting the partition you wish to access, and rebooting your Mac.

The utility might also prove to be of good use to people who installed Windows operating systems on their Macs with Boot Camp. QuickBoot automatically detects all partitions and allows you to select the one you need to access with just a few clicks.

This program can live on your Menu Bar or Dock. In the Settings panel of the application, you will find options for hiding the icons from the aforementioned screen locations.

I have two OS X versions installed on my Mac. In order to switch between these partitions, I needed to hold the Option key at system login or go to the System Preferences panel. QuickBoot offered me a quicker alternative and immediately completed the given task.

In conclusion, you should install this free program on your Mac if you have multiple OS X versions installed on your computer. It's simple to use, works perfectly, and is open source.
