Planbook

Planbook is a very useful utility for teachers and other people who need to keep track of their lesson plans.

The app lets you add as many courses as you want, and each course will have a complete week schedule which includes specific information about each class, including teacher information, homework assigned, materials needed, attachments and more. You can even assign different names to the fields next to the schedule, which lets you adjust the app to your needs.

When you first run Planbook, it will ask you to add a Course. In this window, you can specify the dates the course will run from and to, the days you will teach it, and what type of schedule you want to use for it. There are four options available: you teach the same classes every day, you teach different classes each day but your schedule repeats weekly, you teach on an alternating A/B schedule or you teach using a rotating schedule (and you get to choose how many classes you want to use in your rotation).

Once your Course or Courses are added, you will see a nice weekly schedule, with different colors for each course. You can then of course make changes to each class, suspend it, or bump it forward, share the lesson, etc. You can see your schedule in three ways, just like in iCal: day, week or month.

Planbook lets you add files to your lesson plans. This is a great way of never forgetting where you put the files that you need for a lesson.
