Picktorial is intended for organizing, enhancing and retouching photographs. It has the advantage that, besides supporting common picture formats, it also allows importing RAW images directly from your camera.

Fortunately, there are multiple learning resources online, including a manual and some tutorials.

The application has a nice interface with a dark theme. You can start by importing the intended folders. Besides, for trial purposes, there is a folder containing demo photographs. There is a panel on the left from where you can access those folders without much effort. Likewise, it lets you perform searches based on date, preference and status criteria.

When you open a folder, you can see thumbnails of the photos it contains on the bottom panel. Then, if you want to view or modify any of them, just click on its thumbnail. An important element is the panel on the right. It has four tabs: Presets, Adjust, Info and History. The easiest way to enhance a photo is by going to the Presets tab, where you can find six preset categories: Black and White, Color, Effect, Film, HDR or Vintage.

Moreover, you can make manual adjustments if you prefer so. In this respect, the application allows managing colors and light parameters, cropping and rotating pictures as well as adding frames and watermarks. There is also the possibility to enhance the photo by applying patches, sharpening the image or modifying the tone.

As said, Picktorial allows importing RAW files. Luckily, it supports a very long list of camera models. However, this feature is not available in the free version and should be acquired as an in-app purchase.

All in all, Picktorial lets you perform various operations on photographs. Besides, it has a very straightforward workflow which makes it a great alternative for beginners. Unfortunately, its latest version does not seem to completely support the latest macOS versions, as it displays a notification whenever I open it. There is a basic version of this product available from the Mac Store at no cost, but you should buy an upgrade to enjoy Premium features.
