Photo Exifer lets you explore and modify the metadata that is usually embedded in picture files. This way, it helps you protect your identity by removing the original tags so that no one can know who took the photo, where or when.

Your work should start by importing the desired files. Luckily, it supports most popular picture formats as well as various RAW formats, including DNG, RAW, MRW, RAF, CR2 and MOS. Likewise, it lets you edit not only EXIF data but also GPS, IPTC, XMP and TIFF.

Once the photographs have been added, you can easily view the metadata corresponding to the selected item from the right panel. In this respect, you are allowed to examine such info as a camera model, location, focal length, date, time and much more. There is also a button labelled Quick Action from where you can perform the most frequent operations, like removing all EXIF data, edit GPS info, copy specific data and rename files using the available tags. In the specific case of GPS info, the application lets you find the current coordinates on a map. What is more, you can add a new location by clicking on a given spot.

Luckily, the tool supports processing batches of photographs. This way, you can edit or remove given tags on a group of image files. This includes changing dates or entering new GPS locations. Not only that, if you intend to use the same data repeatedly, it is a good idea to create a template you can reuse at any time. Fortunately, the chance that these operations result in massive data losses is minimized, as the app creates new files with the new metadata by default.

All in all, Photo Exifer may come in handy for organizing your photo collection. Moreover, it is recommended in cases in which you need to distribute pictures, such as posting them on an Internet site. Unfortunately, it is not well integrated with Photos, your system’s built-in tool. Fortunately, this product can be tried before you make any decision regarding its purchase.

Does not fix creation dates on videos stored in photos. Another major limitation. It does fix the creation date on copied photos but that's about it. For $19 I would have expected much better functionality. DO NOT BUY.

When they send you this message: "It seems that full disk access temporarily does not work for some reason, and we have received several similar feedbacks from our customers before. After they restarted the Mac a few times, it suddenly worked again. It seems that it’s a macOS bug." You know that their tech support is struggling. There is an 8 hour delay for tech support. The software is bad. There is no refund. DO NOT BUY.

The PHOTOs integration is a major limitation. It will work with images copied into Photos but if one keeps their photos outside of Photos (i.e. just linked) then it won't work at all (doesn't even see the linked photos, only ones copied in).Been trying to get a refund due to this limitation but no success - refund request seems to be ignored (email support was good though to help determine the problem).
