It doesn't convert regular text into its phonetic representation automatically. What PhonetiKey does is allow you to enter IPA symbols for the supported languages more quickly and easily. PhonetiKey is a kind of virtual keyboard that you see on the screen and use to type by clicking buttons with phonetic symbols on them.
