PDF Toolkit is intended to perform various operations regarding PDF files, such as merging and splitting documents, extracting and deleting pages, converting pages to separate images as well as compressing files.

The application is very simple to use, mostly because there are tabs that allow you to go straight to the desired feature. In this respect, the first tab is labeled Concatenate and it permits merging a series of PDFs into a new one. Regrettably, although it lets you arrange files in the desired order, it does not support using a specific page range from each of them.

The second tab lets you manipulate the pages in a document. In this regard, it is possible to split a document every number of pages. Likewise, you can specify what pages to keep, or otherwise, remove. The third tab, called Text/images, is intended for the extraction of all the text or all the images in a document. Moreover, it allows saving every page in the selected PDF in a separate picture file. Finally, there is the Compress tab, which shrinks files and permits picking any of five different compression levels.

All in all, PDF Toolkit works just as described by its developer. In my opinion, its main drawback is that every tab works as a separate tool. This means that you cannot combine different types of operations in a single work session. Let me provide an example; let us suppose you need to extract the image on page 10 only. You would need to extract that particular page and then load the resulting document again to save the image. The product can be bought from the Mac Store.
