PDF Toolbox

This Mac program provides you with a simple solution for manipulating PDF documents on your computer.

You can work with this application to combine PDF files, extract their pages, convert the documents to an editable format, compress them, and many more.

All integrated tools are organized on the main toolbar of the app and you can easily configure their settings to match your needs. Some of the built-in utilities even provide you with a preview window where you can check the input files before choosing the proper output options.

Another thing I like about PDF Toolbox is that, unlike many similar applications, it offers a tool that enables you to apply visual effects to input documents.

In my testing, I noticed that the PDF to Text utility didn't work as I expected. The application failed on several occasions to preserve the original layout of the input file. Furthermore, you have access to the only one output format (TXT).

To me, all tools except PDF to Text worked flawlessly and offered the results I needed within moments. What's more, the output quality was very good.

Taking into consideration that you don't have to pay much to use this program and the fact that it offers plenty of useful features, I say it's worth trying PDF Toolbox. Plus, the app is very simple to use and immediately processes the input documents.
