PDF-Scanner-Pro offers a straightforward solution to convert scanned PDFs and most common image files into searchable PDF documents and text files. With the smart OCR function it provides, the application will allow you to extract the content of image-based PDFs in order to transform them into editable text.
The utility comes with a simple and highly intuitive interface. All features and commands are displayed on the main window and placed right there at hand, so that you can enable them with ease. The file list supports multiple entries, so that you can convert as many files as you want in one session. Unfortunately, files can only be added one at a time, which results in wasting a quite extensive amount of time on such a simple task. However, once the image files or the scanned PDF documents have been imported, you just need to select one of the six languages available for text recognition, choose either Text or PDF as the output format, and enable the conversion. The process doesn't take long, as it will convert only one page per PDF file. Even if the imported files contain multiple pages, only the first one will be converted – this is rather unfair and upsetting, mainly since the free edition is delivered as a standalone program, and not as the trial version of an application to purchase. It comes with an In-App purchase scheme for more extensive conversions.
In short, the program – as is – is limited to one-page PDF and image conversions. If all of your files have only one page, then you might consider the free version of PDF-Scanner-Pro as a possible alternative to extract the content of PDF and image files.
