Obsolescence

There are no resources left in the Universe, the only planets unharvested are the tiny worlds. Although untouched, because of their size they can only sustain life for a few hundred years.

So you are at a constant threat and must keep jumping between planets to keep the human race alive and prevent us from becoming obsolete.
