This utility provides you with accurate information regarding your network traffic. The application might prove to be of good use if you need to know the current upload and download speed and information about your network, such as IP address, data volume, etc.
Network Utility, Mac's default tool for checking info regarding your network, provides you with plenty of useful details. However, it doesn't give you access to real-time statistics, such as download and upload speed. For this reason, apps like Network Inspector were created.
The program sits quietly on your Menu Bar without using large chunks of RAM memory while operating. You can choose between 3 display modes: Macro (displays info on your Menu Bar), Full (a separate window), and Mini (a separate window showing only the download and upload speeds).
Starting with this version, Network Inspector offers you the option to automatically launch it at system login. Also, it now features Chinese localization.
In my testing, the application worked flawlessly. It offered me accurate information, was very simple to handle, and didn't slow down the performance of my Mac.
With that being said, you should try Network Inspector if you're looking for a simple way to monitor your network traffic.

You can be wary though because it's in Chinese.
