If you have just created a WiFi network for your work or office environment and you are looking to test the signal's strength, NetSpot is just the tool you need; within a simple to use graphic layout, users can map their surroundings, test the signal and provide visual measurements of the output. And what's more this is all free to use.
NetSpot employs a wizard-like interface to quickly guide the user through all the necessary steps of getting measurements. This makes it quite straightforward to use; start by drawing a map if you don't have an image, PDF or NetSpot map already. Specify two points on the map and input the actual distance between them. Walk around and click on the map to select your position. The application will collect the survey data, available on the map as green zones. Measurements are available in the form of multiple heat-maps: signal to noise ratio, signal level, quantity of access points, noise level, signal to interference ratio, all complete with visualization settings and export capabilities to a PDF format.
Briefly, NetStop stands out among other similar applications due to its simple usage but also effectiveness; it’s useful for both office and home WiFi signal checking as well as management and is free of charge.
