Neptune's Secret is an enjoyable hidden-object game in which you are an archaeologist who will visit different locations looking for precious artifacts and secrets of Atlantis. Like in most hidden-object games, you will visit different scenes looking for objects on a list. The objects can be listed in words or with their shadows, which adds some variety to the gameplay. In some other cases, you will also need to find parts of a certain object and later assemble them in a sort of puzzle game.
If you have trouble finding some objects, you can use the hints. However, hints are limited and you need to find color gems in the scenes to activate them. The gems will be highlighted from time to time in the different scenes, so it's easy to find them. All the hints are different, but they all do the same: mark the location of an object. One type of hint marks the location with fish, another with lights, etc. There are penalties for random clicking as the lights may get dimmer or your vision will get blurry, if you are underwater. Sadly, the game offers only one mode, but it has an intriguing story. Graphics are simple but nice, sounds are OK and the music is suitable.
To sum up, for those who love history and investigation stories, Neptune's Secret may be a great choice.
- Attractive story
- Varied types of hidden-object games
- Only one mode
- Simple graphics and sounds
