Music Tutor is an application that can help you improve your sight reading. It lets you select a note type (treble, bass, or both) and the application will show you a note on a music sheet. If you don't click on the right note at the bottom of the screen, you won't be able to advance to the next. You can set the round duration to 1 minute, 5 minutes or 10 minutes. After the round is completed, the app will show your score, how many points you got (score times accuracy), and your accuracy percentage. From here, you can access leaderboards, achievements and review your mistakes. This last feature is very helpful for those who are beginners and are just learning to read music sheets.
I like the fact that this app is set up as a game. Trying to beat your previous score, or someone else's is always a great incentive to be better and play harder. I tried to open the leaderboards and the achievements to see what those were all about, but whenever I clicked on the buttons nothing would happen. This is a shame since achievements and leaderboards are also nice incentives.
In conclusion, Music Tutor is a very simple game that lets you practice your music reading skills. It can be configured to show only the notes that you want to practice. If you want to, you can select whether or not you would like the app to play note sounds during each round.
