Movie Collector is a Mac utility that comes in handy to anyone who deals with a large video collection and requires a simple and efficient way to catalog it. The application will scan your computer, identify all found movies, and import their correspondent info into your inventory.
You can also use the integrated search utility to immediately find movie information and load it into your catalog. The program can find movie details, such as director's and actors' names, release date, IMDb rating, and many other. Furthermore, it can download movie artwork and give you access to the trailers of the movies in question.
Another great aspect is that you can print or export the inventory info with just a few clicks. The utility supports a wide variety of output formats and takes minimum time to export the document to the selected destination folder. You can also transfer the stored data to a mobile phone that's being connected to your Mac, directly from the app's interface.
I also like that you can start playing the movies from your catalog from the main window of the program. There's a "Play" button available on the main toolbar. The files are opened with your default video player.
All in all, this program is an effective movie inventorying utility that can easily be handled even by users with little computer experience. It works perfectly, offers you various useful features, and is affordable. So, I can't find any reasons why you shouldn't test it on your Mac.
