Monocle is a simple application for Mac that enables you to make web searches from your Menu Bar. You can customize the appearance of its main window to match your needs, switch between web search engines, and get the results you require with just a few clicks.
This app provides you with an easy and quick way to make web searches. All you need to do is click the tool's icon from the Menu Bar, enter the keywords, and select the proper search engine. After you press the Enter key, the program provides you with a list of suggestions and you can select the webpage you need to access.
I like the fact that you can also add new search engines to the app's list. I tested this feature by adding Vimeo's search engine to the list (the app offers detailed info on how to complete this type of task). The utility immediately recognized the web crawler from the website and included the new item within the search engine list.
Another good aspect about this app is that it shows search suggestions as you type the keywords and you can select and open the link that matches your needs.
Cutting a long story short, Monocle is a helpful program that comes in handy whenever you wish to make a web search on your Mac. The app stays quietly on your Menu Bar, brings a straightforward interface, and offers you the results you need within a few moments. What's more, the application is free of charge.
