Monitor for Facebook is a notification tool for your Mac. The app sits in your menu bar and it can display different types of notifications when you receive Facebook notes. By default, it looks for new notifications every minute, but you can change this value to 5 or 10 minutes. The notifications are customizable. By default, when you get new notifications, the menu bar icon will turn red and pop-up notifications will be shown on the top right side of your screen.
Monitor for Facebook displays notifications when you receive a new message, when someone posts on your timeline or when someone sends you a friend request. You can change this from the settings menu if you want.
If you click on the Menubar icon, you will see a small window that you can use to post status updates to your timeline. There is also a link to Facebook.com for easy access to your profile page.
In my testing, Monitor for Facebook worked pretty well. After I gave the app a permission to access my Facebook page, it displayed notifications within the established update intervals. The notifications looked good and were unobtrusive. Keep in mind, though, that this app will have access to your private information.
