MenuWeather is a nice app for checking the weather. It puts the weather information on the menu bar, where you can see the current temperature and weather. If you want a more detailed overview, the application can display quite a lot of data on a separate window. What is great about this app is that it displays the weather info on the menu bar, which is always visible. Thus, it is one of the fastest ways of checking the weather on a Mac.
The first time you run the app, MenuWeather will automatically detect your location and download relevant weather data and display it on the menubar. If you click on the MenuWeather icon, a menu will pop-up, which will show weather information for the next few days. There are also links to 10-day forecasts, radars, etc. There seems to be support for Growl, so you can customize your notifications using that tool.
If I recall correctly, MenuWeather used to be free, but with the arrival of the Mac App Store, many apps are not free anymore, including MenuWeather, which is sold for 2.99. You can only get this app from the Mac App Store.
