ManyCam is a free app that allows you to add effects to your webcam videos. It has a few other uses that have nothing to do with adding effects to the video stream of your web camera, too.
The effects are probably the most interesting feature of this app. And if you think about it, what ManyCam does is add effects like Photo Booth's to your web camera feed. For example, you can add text, time, flags, and still backgrounds to your web camera video. There are some effects that automatically look for parts of your body to replace it with cartoonish elements. That is the case with the face accessories. You can add eyebrows, sun glasses, hair and hats to your image. The facial recognition works well, and the objects will follow your face as you move. If you move too fast, the object will often disappear, though.
ManyCam will remember your settings after you close it. And while it is active, whenever your web camera video is shown, it will display all the elements that you have added to it. You can easily restore it to the default from the application's options.
Pros
- Good number of effects
- Easy to configure
- OK face tracking
Cons
- The app does just an OK job of replacing your background
- No moving backgrounds
Useless and mostly spy & privacy concerns from Chinese Server.
I don't understand why I don't find ManyCam source when I try to select it. I have a Macbook air with Maverick's 10.9 . What should I do?
