MacX iPad Video Converter can be used to convert video files for playback on the iPad. The application can open files of the most popular video formats, including DivX, XviD, MP4, MKV, FLV, 3GP, MOV, among others. It converts them into MPEG-4 and H.264, which are the two formats that are supported by the iPad and most other Apple products. Of course, any computer will play them and other mobile multimedia playback devices will do too.
MacX iPad Video Converter comes with a YouTube downloader. You can simply paste a Youtube URL and the app will download the video and then convert it to whatever format you select. I was surprised to see that the downloader worked quite well.
The graphical user interface is this app's weakest point. It looks identical to the one used by WinX converters, and that GUI is below-average, even in Windows. It is functional, though. But a more native interface would do wonders for this app.
The app doesn't have any video editing features, but it makes up for that with the built-in YouTube downloader.
All in all, this converter works well and it has good format support for an iPad converter. At $19.95, it offers a lot of value for a commercial app.
It lets you convert clips to formats compatible with various multimedia devices.
