MacX Free Apple TV Video Converter is a video conversion utility that can be used by any Mac users who want to put content on their AppleTVs.

I have an AppleTV, and I love it, but its main drawback is that it doesn't support more than a few formats. So, if the file that you want to stream to is not supported, then you have to convert it. This application does just that. It will take pretty much any popular video file, including MKV, MOV, AVI, DivX, XviD, FLV and 3GP and convert it into either an H.264 or MPEG-4 file. Then you can add those files to iTunes and stream them.

There are nine conversion profiles available for video. They vary in the format that they use, their resolution and aspect ratio. One of them can be used to convert HD video so that you can play it on the AppleTV. Users who want to convert 1080p video will be disappointed to know that that resolution isn't available. Another feature that is nowhere to be found is a video editor. However, if you want to, you can enter start and end times manually to trim your videos.

In conclusion, this is a nice video converter. It is free, so I can't complain much about what it doesn't have. It works well and it is easy to use, which is enough for me. Users who need more features might want to keep looking.
