If you have ever wanted to analyze a large batch of ABI sequence files all at once, you may have found it difficult to sort through them, finding the high quality sequences and separating them from the poor quality reads. The Mac Sequence View suite offers you 3 tools to help you separating your DNA sequence files into separate bins. The primary app - Mac Sequence View is a chromatogram trace viewer, but it also quickly generates a table that you can view in your web browser. The table indicates the quality of the DNA trace - and uses a red background for low quality reads. It also gives you a graphical representation of how many base reads are poor quality. Sifter, also included in the suite, can help you sort these chromatogram files into "good" and "bad" bins - so you don't waste your time looking at bad reads. The criteria for sorting is user configurable. Finally, Comment Changer allows you to take a batch of ABI files, and change the comments field - an embedded field in the ABI file, which is difficult or impossible to change with any other software - including Life Technologies own software!
