This is an application to track your investments. Straightforward interface, absence of complicated menus, and attractive price will make you want to try it out if you plan to become an investor.
The downloaded package contains the installation folder. As usual, just drop the Application onto the application folder and the program is installed. Run the program from the Applications folder.
When you first run the program, you are greeted with a User Terms Agreement screen. You need to agree before you can use the program. Below the agreement, you will find the request to register the program. If you just want to try it out for 30 days, then you can choose "Not Now" and commence evaluation. The program's interface is very straightforward. There are only 6 buttons: Quotes, Portfolio, Currency, Plot, Info, and Preferences. There are also add and delete stock/currency and refresh buttons.
It is important to note that the program was integrated with Yahoo! Finance's API, so the information for the stocks is provided by Yahoo. If you do not trust Yahoo Finances, then you should avoid using this program, I guess.
The idea of the program is very simple. Portfolio will hold your purchased stocks. Quotes will show you information on any symbol you wish. And currency will compare US Dollar to currencies around the world.
In case you need some stock's more detailed information, you should highlight it and then click thde info button. Also you can see the performance graph by clicking the Plot button.
The program should be used by casual investors who require a simple stock tracking tool. You can set the program to show you the tracker, but remember the data is very often delayed. The good thing about the program is that it allows you to export/import data about your stocks, so you can use them with some other programs or sites.
