iSpeak It

Listen to your documents on your iPod or iPhone.

  DOWNLOAD

Simply put, iSpeak It is a document to audio converter. It is such a great tool for anyone who wants a text file to be read on either your Mac or a mobile audio playback device.

The app was designed to let you convert any text file to an audio file so that you can later on play it on your iPhone, iPod or iPad. When iSpeak It converts a file to audio, it also creates a lyrics file that is transfered with the file, so that you can read and listen at the same time.

iSpeak It can convert text files, driving directions, weather forecasts, RSS feeds and even Wikipedia articles. I tested the app with Wikipedia, because I think that listening to Wikipedia articles could be interesting. When you click on the Wikipedia button, a search box pops up, asking what you want to look for. I chose the "Internal combustion engine" and the application downloaded the whole article. Then I tested the speech engine and I found that it wasn't as annoying as I expected it to be. The computer read the article to me and I understood every single word of it. The computer had great diction and it read everything quite clearly.

After that, I converted the file and I found myself listening to the remainder of the article on my iPhone.

In short, iSpeak It is a great, innovative tool that can be used by an array of different users.
