iPlayTones

iPlayTones is a collection of different types of ringtones. The application lets you play and listen to the ringtones, but if you want to download them, you have to do so via In-App Purchases.

The developers of the app claim that there are over than one thousand ringtones available. There are different types of ringtones, some of the available categories are Annoying Callers, Annoying Sounds, Electronic DJ, Acapella DJ, Animals, Beatbox DJ, Horror FX, Contemporary Piano, and Nature Sounds. The categories are displayed in the main window, and when you click on one, a new window will pop up with a list of ringtones. Next to each ringtone you will see a play button. When you click on it, the app will connect to the Internet and stream the ringtone for you.

This app has quite a few problems. First, the categories aren't described with text. All you see is an icon. It is hard to figure out what a category is without clicking on it. The second problem is that you can't seem to buy a single ringtone. You have to buy all the ringtones in a category (usually 20).

Basically, this app was done so that you could spend your money on ringtones via In-App Purchases. It can be downloaded for free, but I didn't find any free content in it.
