InterviewScribe is intended for transcribing speech. In this respect, the tool allows importing an audio recording of the source speech, which you can play and pause while you transcribe the text. Although the application is not too difficult to use, it is good news that there are various help resources, including a tutorial channel.
Its main window has a built-in audio player that shows the audio waveform together. It also has common playback buttons like Rewind, Play and Stop. Likewise, it lets you adjust playback speed and sound volume. There is also a text box that allows editing the text corresponding to the phrase being played. Moreover, there is a list containing all their phrases, including their start time and duration.
Fortunately, you do not need to start transcribing from scratch. In this regard, it is excellent to apply speech recognition technologies and get an initial rough version. Since errors are likely to occur during this processing, it is always a good idea not to rely on the results. Instead, play the speech and edit the resulting text manually to correct any problems.
Another advantage of this application is that it automatically identifies phrases in the imported speech and divides the source audio accordingly. Luckily, it is much easier to listen to and transcribe short phrases than working on an undivided text. Once you finish editing, the resulting transcription can be exported to a plain text file. more
