InstantShot! is a program for Mac users who wish to take snapshots of the whole screen, a section of it, or a window. This Menu Bar tool offers numerous output configurations, lets you set global keys for each screen capture mode, and has an option to exclude the mouse cursor from the snapshots.
You can configure the application to play a sound after each screen capture, to automatically add any prefix you need for the saved snapshots, and to modify the shortcut keys if necessary. You can complete the aforementioned tasks by clicking the app's icon from the Menu Bar and accessing the Preferences menu.
Another good thing is that you can choose from the menu of the app which type of screenshot (in a rectangle, the entire screen, etc.) you need to take and select the output format of the snapshot.
The only aspect I don't like about this application is the fact that it supports only three output formats: JPEG, PNG, and TIFF.
As for the rest, InstantShot! proves to be a reliable solution when it comes to taking screenshots on your Mac. The app runs quietly on your Menu Bar without using many CPU resources, offers simple to configure settings, and comes with no price tag.
