Hide a phrase

If a phrase is displayed using the overlay window or transparent panel style, it can be hidden by clicking on it. These display styles and the desktop widget can also be hidden using the View menu, the Dock, or a system-wide keyboard shortcut.

To hide a displayed phrase:

Do one of the following:

To hide the overlay window: Click anywhere on the window.

To hide the transparent panel: Click the close button in the title bar.

To hide a desktop widget: Desktop widgets cannot be hidden by clicking on them. Instead, use one of the options described below.

To hide a phrase using the View menu:

Step 1

Select View > Hide Phrase from the menu bar.

The most recently displayed phrase will be hidden.

Step 2

Select View > Hide Phrase again.

Continue until the desired phrase is hidden, or all 10 phrases have been hidden.

To hide a phrase while in another application:

Step 1

Control-click on the Inspire Me icon in the Dock. Select Hide Phrase from the menu.

  - OR -

Type the Hide Phrase hot key you previously set in the Preferences window.

The most recently displayed phrase will be hidden.

Step 2

Control-click on the Inspire Me icon in the Dock and select Hide Phrase again.

  - OR -

Type the Hide Phrase hot key again.

Continue until the desired phrase is hidden, or until the 10 most recently displayed phrases have been hidden.
