IINA is more than just a simple video player for Mac. This program also enables you to create audio playlists, gives you access to dozens of playback settings, supports countless media formats, and so much more.
The application comes with a nicely-crafted interface, allows you to complete various types of operations with the help of shortcut keys, and keeps a playback history. What's more, it keeps track of the exact frame from a movie you were watching before shutting down and launching the app again.
Another great aspect is the fact that IINA comes with an integrated utility for finding and downloading subtitle files on your Mac. You can also import your own subtitles from your local directories.
But the best thing about this app is that it provides you with a wide range of video and audio playback settings which help you make your movie watching experience a lot better.
The only disadvantage I was able to find was the fact that the app was offering support for only one format when it came to exporting playlists: M3U8.
In conclusion, I'd say it's definitely worth installing this open source media player on your Mac. It's packed with a wide variety of useful features, works perfectly, and comes as an effective alternative to using Mac's QuickTime application for watching movies.
