Info updated on:

iFunia MOD Converter is a video tool that can help you convert files encoded using the MOD codec to more popular formats. MOD has never gained the popularity that JVC hoped it would. As a result, not many devices or even software players have added support for it. The format basically uses a variant of MPEG, so MOD files can often be opened by simply changing their extension to MPG. This converter comes in handy when that trick doesn't work. Some of the formats that it can convert your MOD files to are: H.264, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VCD, SVCD, MOV, AVI, DivX, XviD, MKV, and a few more. The app also has conversion profiles for a number of devices, including tablets, gaming consoles, smartphones, etc.

All the features that you may expect from a commercial converter are available in this one. There is a video player in the main window that lets you play your videos before you have to convert them, and there is an editor that lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties.

Performance is on par with similar products by other developers and my results were good when converting MOD files to H.264 and MOV.
