iCoolsoft 3GP Converter for Mac is a video conversion utility that can be used to convert your video files into 3GP so that you can play them on mobile phones and other devices that only support this format. Additionally, you can also convert 3GP and 3G2 files to other formats, such as H.264, MPEG-4, DivX, WMV, WebM, MOV and MPEG-1 and 2. Input format support is quite good and most modern formats should be accepted.
This application boasts a nice graphical user interface which is simple and to the point. Before you load your files, you will see on-screen instructions on how to use the converter. There is a video player on the right, and the format selection drop-down menu at the bottom of the screen, from where you can choose formats or use one of the included conversion profiles. There are profiles for a variety of mobile phones.
There is a video editor that you can use to trim and crop videos and adjust brightness, contrast and saturation.
In my testing, I converted an MP4 file into 3GP and then I converted the 3GP file to MOV. Both processes were completed successfully and quite fast. The resulting files looked good on my Mac and they should look good on the screens of mobile phones as well. Keep in mind that 3GP files are converted with a lower resolution, to make sure that they will play well on the small screens of phones that only support 3GP files.
