iBackup Viewer is an application that allows its users to view data stored on iOS devices by using their Mac desktop. With this utility, backups of iPhone or iPad data can be extracted and managed. These backups are created by iTunes, but they consist of unreadable databases and files. This utility however can load the backups, extract relevant data stored there and convert them so that they can be viewed by users.
The user interface consists of six tabs. The "address book" tab has two columns, one for groups and one for contacts. Saving can be done individually for contacts, by selecting several of them or by selecting a created group. The "call history" section is built under the form of a table with three columns: phone number, date and duration. SMS messages have their own dedicated column. The Internet access history and the created bookmarks can be consulted in a different tab. Two panes are available here, one including a table for the visited URLs (columns: title, date, visits, URL) and one where a table concerning bookmarks is displayed (columns: title, URL). Bookmarks of interest can be selected and added to Safari. Photos and apps can also be extracted from the iOS device.
In conclusion, iBackup Viewer is a utility designed so that backups of data present on iOS devices can be viewed on Mac desktops and MacBooks.
