Home Inventory is a Mac program that comes in handy if you're planning to move out to a new house or organize a garage sale. This application offers you a simple and quick way to catalog your valuables, from furniture items and books to office equipment and electronics.
The first thing you need to do is create an inventory file. Afterwards, you can start adding your items in the correspondent categories. The program comes with predefined categories, one for each room you could possibly have in your home. You can change or remove them if necessary.
Home Inventory lets you add various types of information for every household item. For instance, you can enter details like the acquiring price, current condition, serial number, etc. The app also lets you add pictures and notes to any of the new entries from your inventory.
Another advantage is that you can back up the stored information to a local folder or your Dropbox account at any interval of time you like.
The one thing I don't like about this program is that it supports only one output format when exporting item info to local directories (CSV).
Still, Home Inventory provides you with an easy and quick solution for cataloging your belongings. Plus, it comes with a reasonable price.
