I am getting so many hits for people still aimlessly searching the internet for former tab giant Taborama. It has closed down more than a year ago but distraught guitarists still looking for their 1 stop shop for great tabs but it’s not there so they have gone looking for other places that come close to Taborama…but there is a solution. MXTabs is slated to be back summer 2007 it actually could be back up now. If you have never heard of it MXtabs was one of the only tab sites that could have been better than Taborama. In any case they came close but MXtabs is back! YAY Thus ends an epic battle for guitar music content.
Quite a nice free tool. I expected it to be a bit more capable in terms of reading files, but even with the provided functionality it can provide you a good start in playing the guitar.
The app helped me learn a few moves on my guitar. It was enough for a start. It is great that the application is free. It can help if you are just in the beginning of your musical studies.
I didn't like the app at all: only short song pieces played(and what should I do if the melody slightly changes by the end of the song?), downloaded mp3 are not transfered into finger positions (the program uses the previous sample). This is a bunch of good ideas which have to be modernized.
The given samples are good, but when I tried to load an mp3 that I wanted to learn I faced a problem: the program gave the keys for the previous sample song played. Moreover I found it not very handy that the program provides short pieces of songs. The thing I liked is that the application shows not only the position of the left hand, but also the strings the right hand should pluck.
