FreeTTS is a simple application that turns text into speech. The resulting voice-based file is saved as MP3 at a computer location of your choice.

The utility is very easy to use so it doesn't require any special knowledge to manage it. All features are conveniently placed on the main window for easy access.

Once you open the app, you simply enter the desired text, make some voice-related settings, and enable the conversion. You can choose whether the voice should have effects or not, set the voice pitch and speed, and select the voice style out of three available profiles. The list of supported languages is quite comprehensive so there are minimal chances not to find the one you are looking for. You will appreciate the ability to insert breaks into the speech flow for better listening and understanding the message of the text. Also, the utility allows you to set the duration of the pause in the speech. However, you can't process texts larger than 5000 characters and more than 6000 characters per week. Obviously, these limitations can be overcome if subscribing to full version.

To conclude, FreeTTS offers a simple solution to convert text into speech. Unfortunately, you don't have the option to pre-listen the spoken text before saving. Yet, the tool provides easy-to-use features and multiple voice styles to choose from.
