Having Flowdock in your Mac OS X Dock will make it easy to notice when something has happened in Flowdock. You can see the number of unread messages in one glance and will be notified using Growl when something new happens.
Desktop notifications will keep you posted on what's happening in your flows even when you're not actively following Flowdock.
