File Time has a self-explicable game: This application can modify the time attributes of batches of files in practically no time.

Even though this utility is very straightforward, it is a shame that there is no help documentation whatsoever, except that available in the description of the product.

The interface is modern and quite technical-looking. The workflow is just as simple: importing files, setting the desired date and applying changes. Luckily, you can add any type of files as well as folders, which you can do by dragging and dropping them or browsing for them in Finder. The time should be entered manually, but there is a button to get the current time automatically. In this respect, you can change both creation and modification dates. Likewise, it is good that you can use filters for files and folders.

All in all, File Time works exactly as its vendor describes. It works relatively fast and effective when the files are not write-protected. Just as a suggestion: it would be good if the current date and time appeared by default. There is one more thing, it should warn you when you are entering a modification date that is older than the creation date, which is impossible. The product can be purchased from the Mac Store at a very reasonable price.

  • Supports batch processing
  • Allows filtering

Cons

  • Current date and time should appear by default
  • Does not warn you when the modification date you are entering is older than the creation date
