FileBuddy 11 - I am so anxious for your to finish this rewrite! What you've done so far has been excellent. What I miss most is the "file renaming", particularly "sequential renaming". I used this feature daily on the 32-bit version.
One of the big jobs I used it for was to rename photos. Each photo source (iPhone, iPad, misc. cameras, etc) has a unique naming convention. Often, over time, the different sources would create a filename that was identical to a previously existing photo. As such, it is far too easy to accidentally overwrite the old image with the new. To handle this, I immediately rename incoming photos by prefixing the original name with the photo creation date in the format "YYYYMMDD_". Not only does this ensure that a new image could not overwrite an old one, but it makes infinitely easier to locate a specific image by the date range.
I also used it to rename screenshots sequentially (1.png - XXX.png), when the screenshots were made for a specific purpose... typically to be turned into a PDF book.
There are an almost infinite number of different ways this app could be used. But this feature is what I miss most!
