Encryption Buddy

Encryption Buddy is a Mac program that helps you password-protect your private documents and directories.

By working with this simple application you can make sure no unauthorized users can access your personal files while you're away from your computer.

The main window of the utility is split into two sections, one for encrypting and another for decrypting data. All you need to do in order to password-protect files or directories is to drag-and-drop the data over the app's interface, enter an access password and a hint (the hint is optional), and the program will create an EB file in the same folder location as the input data. When it comes to decrypting, just drag the encrypted files over the main window of the tool and enter the password. So, it's very simple to handle this app.

Another advantage is that Encryption Buddy takes a very small amount of time to create the EB files as well as to decrypt them.

My only concern is that the encrypted files can be moved or even deleted from your computer. You don't need to enter the access password to complete the aforementioned tasks. So, the program prevents other users from accessing your private files, but fails to block them from erasing the encrypted data.

In conclusion, I think you should try other encryption apps as this one has an important flaw.
