Emicsoft iPod Manager for Mac

Emicsoft iPod Manager for Mac is an application that can be used to copy content from your iOS device to your Mac and vice versa.

It also comes with a video converter that can be quite helpful when you want to put videos on your device and find that the format of the videos isn't supported, which is often the case. There is also a DVD ripper that you can use to put your DVD movies on your device. The iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone are supported by this app.

When a device is connected, you will see its name, type of device, iOS version, used space and free space. On the left pane, you will see the types of data that can be transferred (photos, videos, music and ringtones). If you want to access the video converter and ripper, you can click on "Mac to iPod", at the bottom of the screen. A new window will appear, and you can play with conversion settings there. Quite a few conversion profiles are available, which use the MPEG-4 and H.264 formats.

To transfer content to your Mac, you simply can select the files that you want to back up and click on the right button. There are two; one that transfers content to a folder on your Mac, and another that sends the files straight to iTunes.

For this application to work, you have to be able to sync your device with iTunes.
