Emicsoft 3GP Converter for Mac is a video conversion tool that was designed to let you convert your 3GP files to other popular formats. 3GP is a format used by many older phones to record video. Most multimedia playback devices, like iPhones, iPads, gaming consoles and cellphones can't play the 3GP format. This converter lets you convert it to formats like AVI, WMV, MOV, MPEG-4, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, DivX, XviD, FLV, SWF, and VOB, among others. Chances are that you have a device that supports those formats. The application can also carry out the opposite operation: convert files from other formats to 3GP so that you can watch video on your phone when it doesn't support other formats.
The graphical user interface of this application is not beautiful, but it is easy to use. There is help on the screen that guides you through the simple conversion process. It all boils down to loading the file that you want to convert and picking a format for it from the available ones. There are over 50 conversion profiles available, for devices like iPhones, iPads, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, etc.
This converter comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust their brightness, contrast and saturation.
To test the application, I loaded an AVI file and converted it to 3GP for the Blackberry. The process was incredibly fast, and the resulting file played fine, although it was smaller in resolution.
