Duplicate Photo Finder

Duplicate Photo Finder is a simple application that helps you identify duplicate images in your photo collection.

Once detected, the tool offers to remove the duplicates in order to regain valuable disk space.

The utility opens with a self-explanatory interface that clearly informs you about the program's abilities. Namely, the tool can scan either your Photo library or a specific folder located on your computer or on any remote storage devices. Once the scan is over, the app displays the photos identified as similar as thumbnails, together with metadata information about each image. The thumbnail view is easily controllable in terms of zooming – yet, for a better view, you can look at the selected picture in full size simply by using the "Quick Look" function.

What is interesting about this application is the ability to mark the duplicates automatically based on a set of rules that you can enable from Preferences. You can check specific rules and leave the rest unselected, set values for each rule and change the priority order using drag-and-drop. Consequently, the program marks with a trash sign the images that meet the selected criteria, in order to help you decide which photos to remove. However, you can unmark the images you want to keep, as well as select manually other photos you wish to send to the Trash can.

In short, the program works as a straightforward photo duplicate remover, helping you in getting rid of identical images that clutter your storage space for no reason.
