Downie 3 can help you download clips from more than 400 video-sharing sites, including YouTube, LiveLeak and Vimeo. Luckily, it supports all resolutions commonly used to share movies. The app has a nice and intuitive interface, with two visual modes available: Dark and Simple. However, some options, such as postprocessing video, are somewhat hidden under a right click.
To create a download, Downie 3 supports dragging and dropping the desired link onto its interface. Besides, you can add extensions to various popular browsers to automatically allow sending video download links to Downie 3. What is more, the app permits searching for videos without even needing to use a browser. It is great that Downie 3 can manage multiple simultaneous downloads.
The application can be used without ever changing its default settings. In this regard, it automatically selects the best quality available and MP4 as the output format. In the case of subtitles, the tool prompts you to choose any of the available languages.
The tool supports some postprocessing options. For instance, you can convert clips to MP4 or extract their audio tracks only. The conversion is done quite fast thanks to the way the app pre-analyzes contents. It is shame, though, that the product does not allow other actions, such as extracting just a segment of the original movie, which is available from other tools of the same kind.
All in all, Downie 3 can be the solution if you want to watch some clips even when you are offline, or on other devices that cannot connect to the Internet. Likewise, it can solve the problem of watching your favorite videos when your internet connection is speed is too low for streaming contents in real time. The product can be tried at no cost and without feature limitations for some time.
