I just bought it for myself and the "office"—where I tote drives back and forth. EdgeRover by WD is no longer supported, and DiskCatalogMaker is just fine. Thank you for sticking around!

I've just upgraded from a very old copy I got free with Toast after going from an Intel Mac to an M1, I was happy with the old version but I'm even happier with the new version. I'm not sure when this happened but at some point DiskCatalogMaker went from nice little extra to how do I cope with out this. The upgrade discount was very small, but it is nice to see a discount from software that is something like 15 years old. If you have problems remembering what files are on what disc, DiskCatalogMaker is a necessity.

I needed a utility to quickly search my Mp3 collection on an external disk. DiskCatalogMaker is lightning fast and does the job well!

Great for quick indexes to search of your offline storage or even the online network storage that your Mac doens't want to index properly. Clean and simple. A little on the expensive side these days but worth it.

A great piece of software. I have tried others, but DiskCatalogMaker is certainly the best. I love the way it integrates with RoxioToast when burning disks. Highly recommended.

DiscCatalogMaker is exactly what i was looking for! I just upgraded my Mac to a MB Pro M1 and have been 'cleaning house' which included SIX USB drives (500GB➞2 TB) that I have accumulated over the years and this app gets everything in order and produces the database that I wanted when i am looking for 'that file'. I also have the 2 TB drive that I was using at work for TM backups on my work iMac and have data going back a decade. Great app.

Not perfect, but what exactly does that mean? Does what I want.

In migrating to an all-64bit environment, I was checking my most-used apps for 32bit laggards. And DiscCatalogMaker RE has been near the top of my invaluable apps for longer than I can remember. Oh yes: it was bundled with an ancient version of Toast. I've barely touched Toast in years, but DiscCatalogMaker RE has rescued me countless times from near-tragedy, enabling me to find just what I need in minutes, directing me to that archived-on-DVD-or-boxed-external drive where the file in question resides. And it's made me look ultra-organized on the many occasions when a client asks me tentatively if I "by chance" have a file from years back. And, thanks to DiscCatalogMaker, I was able to fetch it almost instantly.
So I was delighted to find that this trusty app has been keeping up with the times, and I was able to download a shiny 64bit full-featured version for a reasonable upgrade price. And, though they've changed spelling ("Disc" > "Disk"), it imported my catalogs, and I had no trouble whatsoever. And the full version has significant advantages (e.g., archive scanning) that only enhance this solid workhorse. Though some reviewers discount the utility of this app for "average" users, for those of us who've been doing this for years, and have been keeping backups and archives (and shouldn't everyone?), this is one of the most important tools in the box. Thanks, Fujiwara!

I've been a long-time user of DCM. Its UI has continued its clean and functional design. The user preferences have expanded and are highly customisable and the regular updates are highly appreciated. The Activity window shows all scannable disks and progress bars. With very large storage files, I appreciate the visual aspects of thumbnail icons to identify common file formats. I occasionally look around for disk cataloguers but DCM is my favourite. I'd highly recommend value for money.
