Disc Eraser is intended to help you reuse rewritable discs by erasing their contents. This operation should leave the discs ready for burning again.
The interface is extremely straightforward: there is only one window with no hidden configuration. The steps to use the app are just as simple. First, you need to insert the desired disc. Then, press the Start button and wait until the erasing process has finished.
All in all, this tool does a perfect job at erasing the inserted disc. In this respect, it is one of those tiny utilities with a very specific purpose that may come in handy some time. Since it is free and uses almost no disk space, you do not have much to lose. However, compared with other tools, it does have limitations. For me, the main drawback is that it does not let you choose between quick and full erase modes. Likewise, it does not support any operations other than erasing. The product is available from the Mac Store.
