Many blog publishing tools come with the capability of creating an RSS file of the blog. The purpose here is to create an independent RSS file direct from the desktop. A file of this type is accessible in any one of the RSS reader and/or aggregators available. A recommended news reader is NetNewsWire from ranchero.com. Direct RSS uses the RSS 0.92 format and the generated file uses the 10 most recent posts in the History. Requirements
