DeleteCTX

Removes the creator and the type from files on HFS(+) volumes.

DeleteCTX is an open source cocoa droplet designed to help you remove the creator and the type from files on HFS(+) volumes.

Doing so forces Mac OS X to interpret a file's type by looking at its file extension. However, you need to remove the creator type in order for the .dat file to function properly.
