Daum Equation Editor is, as its name suggests, a program that enables you to write math formulas on your Mac computer.
You can choose from a wide variety of math symbols and operators which are nicely organized on the top of the screen. The app lets you choose the preferred font size and style, background color, and many others.
Another good aspect about this editor is that it keeps track of recently used symbols and lets you easily and quickly access them by clicking the star icon (top left side of the screen).
The only thing that bothers me about this editor is the fact that it supports only two output formats (PNG and TXT). Nonetheless, the application lets you copy the written formulas to Clipboard and paste them within third-party software.
To sum things up, Daum Equation Editor is a simple yet very helpful app that might prove to be of good use when writing complex math exercises on your PC. The program comes with a user-friendly interface, is perfect for creating flashcards for your students, and comes free of charge.
Pros
- User-friendly interface
- Gives you access to various math symbols
- Comes with Undo and Redo options
Cons
- You can export the results only to 2 output formats (PNG and TXT)
Even though this tool is aimed only on composing formulas, it is a nice tool for the task. With its simple interface it is easy to operate.
