DaisyDisk is a simple Mac utility created for users who wish to analyze disk space usage on their computers. The program comes with a user-friendly interface, immediately scans the contents of the selected drive or folder, and provides you with an accurate interactive map of the scanned disk or directory.
You can select any of your local drives, directories or external storage devices that are being connected to your Mac. The application takes only a few moments to scan your drive or folder. In my testing, I scanned a 150 GB drive. The utility took 1 minute to offer me the information I needed.
Unlike many other disk analyzing utilities, this application provides you with a nice, interactive map. Once you click over a section (in this case, a folder) within the chart, a new map is revealed showing the representation of the selected directory.
This program helps you easily find the large files within your Mac or external drives. You can permanently delete the files you no longer need by dragging them to the bottom side of the interface. You don't have to worry about deleting system files as the app makes sure you don't remove them by accident.
In conclusion, DaisyDisk proves to be a reliable solution for analyzing disk space usage and deleting unnecessary files from your Mac. It's effective, simple to use, and affordable. So, it's worth giving it a try.
