Cream 1.1

Cream is a smart newsreader application that selects news that you may like. The application can supposedly learn about your reading habits while you are using it. It presents articles to you from different popular news outlets. When you click on an article, a summary of it will be displayed in a pop-up window, from where you choose to access the full story on your web browser, or add it to one of the available reading list services, such as Pocket, Instapaper, Readability, or Safari's offline reading list. Articles from some feeds can be read in full from this pop-up window if they are short enough to fit there. Cream will take note of all the articles that you click, and it will assume that those are news that somehow interest you. In the future, it will give more importance to those articles that are similar in some way to the ones that you have clicked before.

The application comes with a few feeds already configured and they are quite good. You will find news from AppleInsider, Ars Technica, BBC News, CNN, Engadget, Macworld, TechCrunch, and The Mac Observer, among a few others. You can even sync your Google Reader account to gain access to your customized feeds.

The application has an excellent design and it is really easy to navigate with your mouse. Keyboard navigation is present, but it could use some improvements. It would be great if news articles would open in a separate pane instead of a pop-up window, though.
