Colorific is an image editor designed to enhance your photos by partially turning them into black and white while preserving the original colors of the selected area you want to emphasize. Therefore, the program offers to highlight specific objects and portraits within your images and dim out the uninteresting parts of the picture by changing them to gray scale.
The application is very easy to use. All you need to do is drag and drop or browse for the photo you want to edit, move the ring-like marker around the picture, place it on the area you wish to remain colored, and determine the size of the fader for a smooth transition between the colored and the black and white parts. The effect is intended to be great, but unfortunately, you will never achieve it, as the program doesn't work at all. I installed the app on two Macs running under different operating systems - El Capitan and Sierra, respectively - yet I had no results. I read other user reviews, and it seems that they encountered the same problem, though they bought the full version in order to remove the free version's limitations.
Until the developers don't fix the problem, I will not recommend this application, because it is a waste of time. There are many alternative programs that will help you enhance objects within your pictures by preserving their colors and fading out other areas with a grey-like effect.
